FAQ
If your country is not recognised by the NMC as a majority English-speaking country, then you will be required to pass an English language test (Academic IELTS or OET).
You will need to achieve the following scores:
Academic IELTS minimum score of 7.0 in Reading, Speaking & Listening and no less than 6.5 in Writing
OR
OET pass at Grade B in Reading, Speaking & Listening and no less than C+ in Writing
We are often asked for guidance on applications for dependant visas. You are of course at liberty to bring your dependants to the UK based on your Tier 2 or Skilled Worker Visa, but these applications are solely your responsibility.
Following your initial sponsorship period, you will be eligible to apply for Further Leave to Remain (FLR).

If your spouse is applying for a dependant Tier 2 visa they will need to sit and pass the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) for UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI)
After 3 years of continuous residence in the UK, you will be eligible to apply for FLR to extend your stay by another 2 years.

Peet Van Jaarsveld
has strong links to Ireland. He lived and worked in Ireland with his family for 5 years and was Head of Projects responsible for the construction and setup of the Abbott Laboratories manufacturing facility in the Longford town just off the N4 in Longford County. They recruited over 800 staff in that period. Returning to South Africa after the facility was completed and operational, he continues to maintain strong business and personal relationships with friends and business associates in Ireland.
He manages the Blue Future Consultancy firm that provides management and HR consulting and outsourced services to clients. Blue Future is an approved service provider for Enterprise Ireland and have looked after their recruitment and office and payroll needs and services in Johannesburg for the last 10+ years. Blue Future also have a partnership with Performance metrics, an Irish SAAS business where we support the development and business and marketing and sales activities of their Personnel performance management applications in Africa. Blue Connect, their Recruitment division is responsible for supporting Construction and Healthcare companies in Ireland and the UK.

As a founder and Managing Director of an Irish based SME he has gained Operations, Financial and Human Resource Management expertise. As Director – Sub-Sahara Africa, Enterprise Ireland he was responsible for the growth of Irish exports to Africa and has gained over a 10-year period an in-depth knowledge of doing business in Africa. He is currently running his own consultancy business advising companies on the “Africa – Now” business opportunity.
